OK - I have been just copying and pasting articles here, but decided to just write a "short" blog.
Tuesday is usually my day working at home, so getting up this morning - list in hand - I figured "wonderful", I can do this!!
Cup of coffee - 1/2 cup of bran (for fiber) - glanced at newspaper.....GOOD START!
Put on gym clothes, tennies and off to Snap Fitness. Good 1 1/2 hour workout - weights and cardio - YEA!
Back to my home office. John and I both need Continuing Ed hours for our Nebraska Real Estate License and he needs Continuing Ed hours for his Kansas License. Usually he has to take 8 hours in Kansas, then another 12 hours in Nebraska as Kansas honors Nebraska hours, but Nebraska does not honor Kansas hours. I ride down to Kansas with him and just hang out while he goes to class.
Scheduled that for him - talked to a great lady in Kansas who agreed that it wasn't fair that Nebraska wouldn't honor Kansas hours. Oh well - that's life!
Then scheduled our Nebraska hours - couldn't do back-to-back days this year as we would be doing repeats and can't to that. So....scheduled 6 hours in June and 6 hours in July.
Now here is the deal. John's Kansas license expires July 31, 2011 and his Nebraska license expires November 30, 2011 - so we try to get everything done in July.
After doing that - I had to change my dentist appointments (for the 3 crowns!) because they would interfere with the Continuing Ed Classes. Done! By now it is 3:30 - haven't even touched the initial list.
All my quarterly reports are due the end of this month - so that was to be next.
Well - we get a call from one of our clients that needed some funds transferred - so got that ready for John to take to bank.
Next - phone rings - it is the lady from Kansas who I had set up our Continuing Classes with. She called Nebr Real Estate Commission and I can sit in the Kansas Class and she will add our Nebraska ID numbers on to the Kansas certificates. Nebraska approved this!!!!! Yea! So it looks like we will only have to take 6 hours in Nebraska; however, I believe I will wait for a bit before I cancel those classes.
Well - if the above makes sense to anyone - good for you!!!
Now - back to my list - it is now 4:15 pm - and the quarterly reports will get done today!
Tomorrow I go in to NeAEYC and then have an appointment with Dr. Lyle at 6:00 pm - thank goodness - he will make me feel so much better.
So...if anyone wants to take a look at my event list - they will see that as you get older, you really don't become any less busy - in fact busier. Well - I should not ever be bored!

SOWING IN TEARS
Lifetime Daily from Anabel Gillham is one of my favorite daily readings - I just had to share this one!
The pain was almost more than he could bear. He had never realized that a broken heart could hurt so terribly, but he couldn't just sit down and cry. It was planting season. So he took his bag of seed and went to the field.
But there was no joy in his work. He didn't hear the clear call of the meadowlark. He didn't see the fields of yellow and lavender on the horizon. The smell of the fresh-turned earth escaped his nostrils. The bite of the pure spring air didn't cause him to lift his head and take in great gulps, for even as he broadcast the tiny seed his eyes were blurred and his hands were damp with tears wiped from his weathered cheeks.
Then, when he could bear it no longer, he fell on his knees and his head touched the broken soil. His tears fell into the furrows, wetting the tiny ovule nestled in the pocket of earth. No one heard. No one saw. There was no one to touch, to care, to say, "I understand."
To know such suffering...and still to sow.
Psalm 126:5,6
Yes, you are hurting. But you cant just sit down and cry. The seed would not be planted and growth would never come. There would be no fruit to harvest. No, you must sow. And chances are, there will be no one who really understands . . . no one to touch you or hold you . . . no one to care. To know such suffering...and still to sow.
Gods promise is to you: Can you believe that one day you will actually SHOUT with sheer joy?

Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.Psalm 126:5,6

Growing Older
This was sent to me in an email - it's something we should all read every day:
Written by a 90 year old Regina Brett, 90 years old, of the Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio .
1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
42. The best is yet to come...
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
44. Yield.
45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

*What Is Not Ex-pressed is De-Pressed
It seems the more we express, that is, bring out what is in, the more alive we are.
The more we give voice to our pain in living, the less build-up we have between our soul and our way in the world.
However, the more we depress, the more we push down and keep in, the smaller we become. The more we stuff between our heart and our daily experience, the more we have to work through to feel life directly. Our unexpressed life can become a callus we carry around and manicure, but never remove. Experience can in effect lose its essential tenderness and poignancy, as we mistakenly conclude that life is losing its meaning. To a man unaware of the cataracts filming his eyes, the world seems dimmer, not his seeing. How often do we find the world less stimulating, unaware that our heart is diminished because of its encasement in all that remains unexpressed?
